‘Supernatural’ season 11 spoilers: Dean, Amara square off in new fall finale photo

There are some intense times coming on the fall finale of “Supernatural” Wednesday, with Dean Winchester facing some of the biggest challenges to date. After all, how else do you explain the attached photos of Jensen Ackles squaring off against Amara?

These images do a pretty stellar job of making it clear just what sort of danger we are going to see with these two characters … though based on the promo that aired for this episode, danger may not be the only thing in the cards. We would imagine that these interactions could shape the rest of the season, in particular thanks to what we know is coming with Sam: A reunion with Lucifer. It’s been a while since Mark Pellegrino has been a part of a major story on this show, so we’re excited to see him here.

Whatever happens here could potentially carry over to the winter premiere and then potentially beyond. We would think that the show would want to keep the story of the Darkness going for at least a little while longer, if for no other reason than that this has been a staple of this season so far and there are so many different elements of it to be explored. For example, we’re still not entirely sure just how the role involving Lucifer is going to be employed the rest of the season.

One thing we do have to assume right now? We’re probably going to get some more information on this story at some point in the future. With that in mind, be on the lookout here for further news!
