‘Supernatural’ season 11, episode 9 (winter finale) preview: Lucifer’s back; also, Dean and Amara get close
The midseason / winter / whatever you want to call it finale of “Supernatural” airs on The CW in one week’s time, and based on the promo for it below we have one word to describe it: Awesome. Not only are you going to see all sorts of complications with Amara (yes, it’s totally happening between her and Dean), but there’s also going to be the return of a beloved character in Lucifer! Mark Pellegrino is a heck of a busy man in between “Quantico” and a million other TV gigs, but the show has figured out a way to bring him back after Sam’s quest in “Just My Imagination” led him to this place. This is the one person who may be able to be an asset against the Darkness, however unlikely that may be.
For more on what to expect, just take a look at the attached synopsis below:
“Amara (guest star Emily Swallow) unleashes her power on the local townspeople as she issues a shocking challenge. Dean (Jensen Ackles) tries to better understand the hold Amara has on him, while Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) come up with a plan that could have disastrous consequences.”
Given that it will be several weeks between this and the next new episode of the show, we have to expect that there will be some chaos that takes place within this episode to set up the second half of the story. The one thing we anticipate directly is that this is not going to be the end of the Darkness story in the slightest. We’re still setting up what’s next.
