‘The X Factor’ UK: Why, and how, did 4th Impact get eliminated?

4th Impact -This past weekend on “The X Factor” was probably a stunning one for many international viewer, just as it was a stunning one for us. Some of the bookies were actually right for a change, and there were many smoke and mirrors surrounding the local popularity of 4th Impact in the UK.

How did the girl group get eliminated from the show before the final four? There are many contributing factors at play here, so we thought this would be a fun subject to dive into today.

1. Misleading popularity – If this show was one that allowed international votes, then there’s no doubt they would still be there. The girl group hails from the Philippines, and they have routinely dominated polls on CarterMatt thanks to readers from all over the world. The problem is that the majority of these people can’t vote on the show, and that’s not going to change. “The X Factor” would undermine other versions of the show if it opened up the voting lines everywhere.

2. Poor placement – We’re not one of those conspiracy junkies who claim that the fix is in, but we do also think that the show this season has its favorites. Louisa Johnson in particular has been heavily touted, and got a chance to both open and close the show while 4th Impact was in a less desirable spot. For the past couple of weeks, they haven’t performed in the best places in the show.

3. Che Chesterman gets a life raft – Maybe being in the bottom two mobilized Che’s fans to help him, or maybe people felt sorry for him after botching the Adele song. Either way, he got a second life this past weekend when we think he would have lost against 4th Impact in the bottom two.

4. The rise of Reggie ‘n Bollie – In this case, it’s more about what another act did right than what 4th Impact did wrong. While these guys are not anywhere near as good of singers, they have a ton of personality and have been in the right place at the right time. Sometimes, it is all about giving the public what they want, and with so many serious things happening in the world their brand of fun is being embraced.
