‘Dancing with the Stars’ season 22: Derek Hough undecided on future

Every season there is always a mystery surrounding who will be the next cast of celebrities on “Dancing with the Stars,” but we feel almost that at the same time, there is almost an equal amount of mystery around which pro dancers are going to return to the ballroom for more.

At the moment, most of the curiosity surrounds Derek Hough, and for good reason. He is one of the longest-tenured pros for one, and to go along with that, he also has won the Mirrorball Trophy more than anyone else. The only real motivation for him to continue doing this would be if he just legitimately loves being a part of it. It does certainly seem like he enjoys it, but at the same time there are many other opportunities out there for dancers.

Following the end of this season, Derek really was not able to say too much one way or another. Speaking to E! News, here is what he had to say:

“I don’t know, who knows … I have to say this isn’t a bad way to go out.”

One thing that probably does help his chances is that his sister Julianne is a part of the show as a judge, and if the two have any future ventures that they want to promote together, this is a great chance for them to use the show as a platform.

One other thing to ultimately remember here is that even if Derek does leave, there’s always a chance that he will come back down the road. Many pros, including him, have done this over the years.
