‘Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance’ top 10 rankings: Can Ciera get to the end over Jeremy, Spencer?
This season of “Survivor” continues to be topsy-turvy, and for us as a viewer, it’s hard to be upset over it. Having so many different twists, alliances / voting blocks, and moves makes it a hard season to necessarily rank, but we’re willing to be wrong on a few things if it means consistent entertainment.
Before we get into our rankings (which are based on strategy, edit, screen time, and threat level), we would advise you to remember has has been said so far about these said voting blocks. They can change on an almost-weekly basis, so we are not really looking at Jeremy / Stephen going with Abi-Maria, Ciera, and Kelley as a permanent thing.
10. Joe Anglim (last week: 11) – Just as we said last time, Joe goes home the moment that he loses immunity. Nobody else in the game at the moment is in the same sort of precarious position, and it doesn’t really matter if he wins in a landslide at the end. We just cannot see anyone making it to the end unscathed.
9. Abi-Maria Gomes (10) – Aside from her being in a three-person alliance, there is a genuine strategic reason for wanting Abi out right now: If people are thinking about taking her to the end, this eliminates her as a possibility. She’s also ranked this low because her odds of winning are probably lower than everyone else at the moment.
8. Kelley Wentworth (9) – She’s received votes against her the past two tribal councils, and as impressive as she’s been, we just don’t envision anyone being so silly as to allowing her alliance of three to exist much longer in the game. They are almost at the point now where you cannot effectively split votes against them, so you’d be smart to narrow down the numbers.
7. Keith Nale (5) – The main reason Keith was ranked so high was because of the fact that we could in theory see him beating Abi and Kelly Wiglesworth in a final three. Now that Kelly is gone, what’s the path for Keith to win the game? We just don’t see it.
6. Stephen Fishbach (6) – We do love that Stephen is orchestrating moves and getting himself to a spot where he could win in the end. Conversely, though, he is putting himself in a position where it’ll be much harder for him to make it there. Tasha and Joe in particular are probably not going to be that thrilled with him over the flip against Kelly, and that may be a reason to target him further.
5. Kimmi Kappenberg (3) – We can only give her credit for the Monica move for so long, given that since that point she’s been almost invisible and out of the loop. We like Kimmi as a character, but we’re not seeing her path to the end.
4. Ciera Eastin (7) – Ciera is a dangerous, sneaky player right now. Is she a target? Sure, but Wentworth is probably the biggest target in her alliance, and once she goes it’s possible that other members of the tribe will go after one another, thinking they can just dispatch of Ciera later.
3. Tasha Fox (4) – We can see situations where Tasha makes it to the end or at least close to it, but other than against people like Keith, Abi, and maybe Kimmi, how else does she win? The edit at the moment also is not supporting the story of a Tasha victory.
2. Jeremy Collins (2) – It’s amazing that we have someone who is so threatening so high on the list, but the big reason for it here is that Jeremy has those two immunity idols. If we were him at this point, our thinking would be to get rid of people like Joe, Kelley, and Keith, and try to keep your immunity idols until the last possible moment you can play them. If he can get rid of Spencer around final six and then compete against weak people in challenges, he’s got a great shot to win the game.
1. Spencer Bledsoe – In the early going, we felt like Spencer was the beneficiary of a lot of other people doing things to help him. Since the merge, though, he’s done an excellent job of helping himself, using some of the bonds he did forge in the early going to make big swings. He doesn’t have anyone coming after him right now, and he’s a significant threat in many challenges. If we somehow have a final three of Jeremy, Spencer, and someone like Stephen or Ciera, how entertaining would that be?
