‘The X Factor’ UK results: Was Anton Stephans or Che Chesterman eliminated?

X Factor -On tonight’s episode of “The X Factor,” we had a show that really should have been about half an hour rather than a full one. Consider here that we had a recap, and then what we feel like was a recap of the recap, and then eventually performances from Nathan Sykes and then Olly Murs. Olly at least did get a little bit of redemption following his major flub last week on the show.

When it came down to the results, what we anticipated was a showdown between Che Chesterman and Anton Stephans as to who would be going home. One had the misfortune of performing first on the night, while the other got into it with Nick Grimshaw following his performance. This one, ultimately, was easy to call: Che and Anton are fighting for their spot to stay.

The first thing we have to moan about is that both Anton and Che chose songs that have been done to death on singing shows already. Where’s the originality, guys? Where’s the fight to be remembered? Che is tremendously talented but his song choices are dull.

In the end, the judges didn’t even let this get to deadlock. Anton is going home, and without disrespecting him let’s just say that it is the right move. We just had a hard time thinking that he had a chance in future weeks, and we think that Che can recover from this. Now, Simon is left without a contestant for the final weeks, which is a big change from having both the winner and runner-up last year.
