NBC’s ‘The Voice’ preview: Brad Paisley, Pharrell to perform on next results show
NBC has just officially unveiled their upcoming roster of performers for Tuesday night’s “The Voice,” and it may be fair to say that these are performers the show is most familiar with at this point.
Let’s begin with the actual coach here in Pharrell, who is returning in order to perform his new single “Freedom” on the show. Pharrell is someone who is immensely talented, and this is a chance to get a good thing going for him given that “Happy” was really the last single that he had to really get off the ground when it comes to achieving hit status. Before that, he had the role of being everyone’s favorite collaborator a la “Blurred Lines” and “Get Lucky.”
Meanwhile, you also have someone coming in Brad Paisley who was an adviser on the show earlier this season. He will be performing “Cowboy Nation.” “The Voice” probably is one of the better gets these days for a country singer to have, given that the following is very heavily country and you’ve got someone in Blake Shelton on the show with a huge base. Other than Carrie Underwood, is there a more well-known mainstream country artist right now?
Of course, the top 11 contestants are also going to be performing, so come back over the weekend for more coverage of that. We’re going to have not just a preview of what the contestants will be singing, but as always our rankings to go along with it. (Here’s a hint: Jordan Smith is still the favorite.)
