NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results: Did #VoiceSave protect Mark Hood, Korin Bukowski?

VoiceTonight’s “The Voice” may not be the first results show of the season, but it is the first to introduce what is a very popular way of mixing things up: The #VoiceSave! We’ll get to who is in danger with that in a minute.

For now, let’s start by cycling through the people who are safe for the week: Jeffrey Austin, Madi Davis, Emily Ann Roberts, and Jordan Smith. Nothing altogether surprising there, given that they all fared reasonably well on iTunes. Plus, the show probably wants to make it look like there is at least a little bit of parity with the coaches, even though there really is not too much of it.

From here, we had some other declarations of safety that left us with a little more of a mixed feeling. We saw Barrett Baber and Amy Vachal coming. Braiden Sunshine? Not too much, since we saw relatively lower iTunes sales figures from him. From here, the final three artists to be saved were Evan McKeel, Shelby Brown, and Zach Seabaugh.

The two artists up for the #VoiceSave were none other than Mark Hood and Korin Bukowski, who have been charting fairly low with most viewers. Therefore, we cannot say that we are altogether that shocked with the result. Both have shown flashes of brilliance, but need more consistency. We thought Korin had the edge when it came to song choice, so we are especially not surprised right now to see that she is the one advancing to the next phase of the competition. Congratulations are of course in order there! With that said, we feel like Mark had some great untapped potential that we never got to see.
