‘Supergirl,’ ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ episodes swapped around following Paris attacks

While there may be new episodes of “Supergirl” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” airing on Monday night, it’s not going to be the episodes that have been promoted to date.

Following the horrific attacks in Paris, CBS has decided to delay airing the recently-scheduled episodes “How Does She Do It?” and “Defectors” for a week. They will now air starting on Monday, November 23. Both shows had stories that revolved around forms of terrorism, and out of sensitivity for those suffering the network felt that this would be the right move. It’s understandable and likely a smart move to not cause greater hurting for those out there who are struggling to make sense of things. These episodes will still air, and there is certainly a precedent for networks doing something like this. Even this past summer, USA delayed the airing of the “Mr. Robot” season finale following a horrific shooting after similar events were portrayed in the show.

As for what the shows are going to be airing instead, “Supergirl” is opting for “Livewire,” which was originally scheduled to air a week from Monday. Meanwhile, “NCIS: Los Angeles” is eeking out “The Long Goodbye,” which was originally scheduled to air on December 7. They have to do a little more creative thinking, since their episode set for Monday was originally meant to be the start of a two-parter that focused heavily on the Marty Deeks character.
