ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: What ‘Rasputin’ means for Fitz, Olivia

“Scandal” season 5 has taken a wide variety of twists and turns over the course of the series so far, and while we have seen Olivia and Fitz get together romantically, that doesn’t mean that it will stay this way. As a matter of fact, we’re not even sure they are together at present, thanks to the events of this past episode. She chose to give back the engagement ring, and as a result of that, is it possible that he could think that she does not want him at all anymore? Sure. After all, this relationship has taken so many turns that the idea of them resetting is something that we could see happening at some point in the future.

In the immediate future, though, it does seem as though the show has some different priorities that could serve as a temporary distraction. Take, for example, the aftermath of Fitz making a big move in international relations. “Rasputin” is the title for the new episode airing on November 12, and you can see the synopsis below for some details on what to expect:

“In the midst of Fitz negotiating a historic peace deal, Olivia must rely on her instincts when a guest of the The White House discloses powerful intel. Meanwhile, Jake uses Huck’s help to get closer to his target, and Cyrus takes matters into his own hands when he realizes he’s been shut out of the inner circle.”

Why would you shut out Cyrus? This is something that is definitely a valid question right now, given everything that he has done for you over the course of the show, and also all of the work Fitz has done so far to get him back on the team.
