ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5, episode 7 preview: The consequences of Olivia’s move with Rowan

So far the story of “Scandal” season 5 has been one twist after another, and there was no better example of that than what we had Thursday night. It appeared at one point as though Olivia and Fitz were going to be married, but she found a way out of that while still ensuring that Fitz would not go on trial. Let’s just say that it required a certain man in Rowan to make it happen.

While Kerry Washington’s character has a chance to celebrate this move to a certain extent, the reality is that this victory may be short-lived. The title for the next episode is “Even the Devil Deserves a Second Chance,” and you can see the synopsis below:

“While Fitz is focused on winning back the American people, he makes a shocking discovery. Meanwhile, OPA takes on a new client, but Olivia seems preoccupied keeping her own secrets, and Elizabeth North sets her sights on a new agenda.”

Hopefully by the time we make it to the end of this particular hour, we’re going to get a chance to see just what Fitz is going to do now that he has some sort of relief over the hearings coming to a close. Meanwhile, Olivia is harboring something so dark in Rowan’s release that it could destroy the bonds between her and virtually everyone around her. If the wrong people find out, isn’t it possible that nobody could even start to trust her ever again?
