‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 3 spoilers: Will Fitz and Simmons keep their secret?

The third season of Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” delivered one of the best episodes arguably of the entire series so far, and mostly because they kept things very simple. We got the full story of what happened to Jemma Simmons in the time that she was away on the alien world, and this was a nice bit of information to have at our disposal.

However, just because we are in the know does not mean that everyone else is, even in the slightest. As a matter of fact, Fitz is the only one at present with the knowledge of what actually went down, and he is not talking really to anyone about it. These two are going to work in secret for a while in order to ensure that Simmons’ partner on the alien world (and eventual lover) Will is brought back … but inevitably, someone else could find out.

Executive producer Jeffrey Bell teased the future of this story to TVLine, and made it clear that over time, things could start to get a little bit ugly:

“Like any kind of secret, it starts with one person knowing something … and then over time there are twist and turns and complications.”

By the time we make it to the end of this story, we imagine that there will be a reason to have hope for Will, and we will also caution his future with Simmons by saying the same thing that we did on Tuesday night: Just because the two had this romance on another planet does not mean it works in the real world. There are so many other things that could come into play here, whether it be different circumstances or a new environment.
