‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Will you see more of Iris’ day job?

The season 2 story of “The Flash” to date has focuses for the most part on the reformation of STAR Labs, and how Iris West has been almost at the center of that as a leadership figure. While she is not someone extremely well-versed by any means in science or technology, she does know a thing or two about getting the job done. Therefore, isn’t it fair to say that she is a nice person to have around?

We do understand still, though, that there are some people out there who could want to see more of Iris’ other professional endeavors; specifically, we’re talking about her reporting. You saw a little of this on this past episode courtesy of her getting a cover story, and speaking on this further to TVLine, Candice Patton makes it clear that Iris’ career endeavors are going to be more and more of a focus as time goes by:

“We know Iris as the iconic reporter from Picture News, but she’s now kind of a part of Team Flash, which is really cool. I’m enjoying seeing her at S.T.A.R. Labs and feeling that she’s no longer kept in the dark. You’ll definitely see more of that this season, but it’s important to remember that she is a reporter and that’s how we know her. We will hopefully start to see her show up in Picture News.”

Obviously, one of Iris’ biggest assets as a performer is having such easy access to The Flash, but we feel like just as she can be a great outlet for Barry, she can also prove herself valuable in breaking stories and giving the team at STAR Labs more information on who they should target thanks to their reporting. In the end, this could be a truly symbiotic relationship.
