‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 12, episode 3 preview: Jo has some big news for Alex

Ever since we saw the clip of Jo discussing some sort of huge news regarding herself in a “Grey’s Anatomy” promo, one thought quickly entered our mind: Is she pregnant? This is the sort of bone that any TV writer will run with, since it’s the sort of long-lasting character story that you can sink your teeth into for months on end.

In watching the extended sneak peek below for “I Choose You,” we’re starting to put some other pieces together that suggest that this could be a very different piece of news. What if the big revelation is that Jo cannot conceive children? Is that something that Alex would be okay with? There are two pieces of evidence primarily that suggest this could be what is actually going on here.

1. She specifically asks Alex about whether or not he wants children, which could be for her a test to see if this is something that would upset him, and cause him to rethink whether or not he wants to be in a relationship with her.

2. Also, look at the episode title for a minute. Could “I Choose You” be a reference to him making it clear the he wants to be with her above all else, regardless of if it means that he cannot have biological children with her? This hardly rules out any other options like adoption.

When we get to the episode itself, we imagine the show will not be mincing words on this subject anymore. This is just the perfect sort of tease designed to entice people to watch.
