‘Doctor Who’ season 9, episode 4 preview: ‘Before the Flood’ features the Fisher King
There are many fun components to Saturday night’s new episode of “Doctor Who” entitled “Under the Lake”: It was creative, imaginative, spooky, and it also brought us a great role for a deaf actress that felt completely natural and not forced.
The crazy thing here is that based on the synopsis below for next week’s “Before the Flood,” we are going to see a story that gives you so many twists and turns, you would have ever imagined it during the beginning of the story. We’ll get a chance to meet the true villain of this story for one, and we’ll also start to figure out more of what his desired endgame is. The synopsis below may not be particularly in-depth, but it should tell you what you need to know for the time being:
“On a remote Army outpost, a fearsome alien warlord – the Fisher King – sets in motion a twisted plan to ensure his own survival. The ripples will be felt around the universe. Is this chain of events inevitable? And can the Doctor do the unthinkable?”
The show’s executive producer Steven Moffat was not kidding going into this two-parter saying that it would leave us on one of the biggest cliffhangers to date. How in the world was the Doctor turned into one of the ghosts, and can anything be done in order to ensure that all is repaired? The onus may be on Clara now to figure this out.
