‘Downton Abbey’ season 6, episode 3 preview: Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes’ wedding day approaches!

Are we finally going to get the “Downton Abbey” wedding that we have been hoping for throughout season 6? It is starting to feel that way, after we have seen Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes do their part to start to plan out the big day. They’ve disagreed over a number of things so far, but we do think that at one point or another, they will find some sort of understanding.

Given that this is “Downton Abbey,” though, you do have to remember here that there are always going to be a few things that really catch you off guard. This is a show that somehow bridges the gap between telling slowly-paced television and giving you shocking moments, and this installment will more than likely be no different.

The synopsis below does offer up a few details all about what you can expect, and you do get a few details about the hospital story regardless of whether or not you want them (we’re personally still not feeling the story):

“Preparations for the wedding of Mr Carson and Mrs Hughes are under way, but a misunderstanding threatens to shatter the peace. Edith meets up with an old acquaintance who comes to her assistance in an hour of need. Spratt has something to hide but Denker is hot on the trail, and Daisy jumps to conclusions when she hears about a plan of Cora’s. Tensions mount over the hospital takeover, leading Isobel to offend a friend. The wedding day dawns, but brings a surprise with the arrival of some unexpected guests.”
