‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8, episode 2 video: Sheldon and Amy’s break-up brouhaha

Fun with Flags -

Anytime that you put Sheldon Cooper into a situation that he is not familiar with or comfortable in, you have to be prepared for some potentially insane things to happen. Based on what we are seeing right now from Monday night’s new episode of “The Big Bang Theory,” that is going to happen and then some.

At the end of the premiere, Amy decided that she did not want to be in a relationship anymore with someone who really did not treat her right, and as a result of that, Sheldon is going to continue to do some of the worst things ever to further ensure that things do not get better between the two. Namely, he is going to be bringing back his viral “hit” “Fun with Flags,” and use a remote control in the place of Amy. Note here that this leads to a very unfortunate comment on Sheldon’s part that he does not realize will be taken in a very different way than what he meant.

The biggest issue for Sheldon and Amy here is mostly Sheldon, and his perception that the entire world revolves around him. We do think that he loves her, but he doesn’t know how to express that properly. At some point before we get to the end of this season, he’s going to have to learn if he wants to get her back. All we know is that this feels like an arc that will last for a few episodes.

While we are rooting for these two to work things out, we also cannot deny that for now, there is some great humor to be mined from this.
