‘Once Upon a Time’ season 5 spoilers: LGBT relationship to be explored; does it involve Mulan?

The latest -

We know that for some time, there have been many people out there clamoring to see Mulan in a relationship with Aurora on “Once Upon a Time.” However, one of the big issues with that was mostly a matter of then figuring out if it was actually going to happen. The show made it clear that Mulan had an interest in her; however, Aurora revealed to her moments before she was going to reveal her feelings that she in turn was pregnant with Philip’s child. That seemed to dash the hopes of the two being together, and then Mulan seemingly went off to join Robin Hood’s Merry Men.

Just for the sake of the Hood story alone (what happened with that?), it feels about right that we saw Jamie Chung again on the show and we are therefore happy to hear that this is happening. Not only that, but it does look like the show is going to actually present a LGBT relationship in some shape or form. Executive producer Adam Horowitz confirmed this with the following message to Entertainment Weekly:

“We want the show to reflect the world as it is now … Whether that’s going to be with any particular character, we’re not going to say.”

With that, don’t assume for certain that it is Mulan and Aurora who are going to be paired up when there are potentially other candidates on the show. Seemingly, it does not seem as though any of the show’s other main characters are lesbian or bisexual, but maybe we could be introduced to someone in Camelot or another location who is.

Chung will be around for multiple episodes, so we feel like it is fairly safe to assume that she will be involved here somehow.

We’ll have further news on the subject of this story as it breaks, but for now be sure to head over here if you are interested in getting some other TV news on everything we cover, sent right over to you courtesy of our CarterMatt Newsletter. (Photo: ABC.)
