‘The Bastard Executioner’: Watch a sneak peek of premiere now!

TBXCan you believe that the series premiere of “The Bastard Executioner” is now a mere matter of days away? It doesn’t seem all that long ago that it was first announced that this would be Kurt Sutter’s first project after “Sons of Anarchy,” and given that production only first started on the series earlier this spring, the show has had a remarkable turnaround for a cable show in its first year.

With the series premiere airing on Tuesday, we have a sneak peek below (via Yahoo! TV) that gives you a sense of some of the desperation we are going to see from one character in particular in Petra (Elen Rhys), who is the wife of our title character Wilkin Brattle (Lee Jones). She is being questioned and threatened by Baron Ventris (Brían F. O’Byrne) and Milus Corbett (Stephen Moyer), Ventris’ right-hand man who likes to pull strings behind the scenes.

While we are in the Middle Ages and we have a very different sort of aesthetic behind this scene as compared to other shows, there are some themes here that will feel familiar. Basically Ventris and Milus use the tools necessarily (basically, threatening the life of a child) to get Petra to give up the goods about where her husband and the other men have gone. (They are trying to form some sort of rebellion.)

By the time we make it to the end of the two-hour premiere, we’re clearly going to see what happens to Wilkin; for now, we just hope that Petra makes it out of this scene okay, and the same goes for the young boy.
