‘The Flash’ season 2 spoilers: Professor Zoom finds his voice

FlashFor the second season of “The Flash,” it’s possible that a pair of different people could actually voice the new Big Bad of Professor Zoom.

Today, we are learning a little something about the famed character’s voice. Speaking in a new interview with Variety, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed that famed “Candyman” Tony Todd is going to lend his voice to Zoom whenever he is in his suit. It doesn’t seem like Todd will play the character outside the suit, and this is just a twist on something that was done in the first season:

“With the Reverse-Flash, we just modulated Tom Cavanagh’s voice, and this year we wanted to do something a little bit different.”

Not much at the moment is known about the Zoom character on the show, but the fair assumption here is that he is someone far faster than either The Flash or the Reverse-Flash from last season, and capable of even more destruction. The rivalry for Eobard Thawne and Barry Allen was personal; who knows what the motivation here is? The structure of season 2 feels at least somewhat similar to that of season 1, where you don’t really get to know the Big Bad too much right away. A better comparison even could be even “Arrow” season 3, since you don’t even start to see Ra’s al Ghul until several episodes into the run.

“The Flash” season 2 will premiere on October 6, and in between seeing characters like Atom-Smasher and Hawkgirl a.k.a. Kendra Saunders, it feels like the show certainly has enough cool stuff for the time being to buy its time.
