Was a ‘Falling Skies’ season 6 necessary to give TNT series proper end?
Before tonight’s episode of “Falling Skies” came to a close, we definitely felt that the show really had no chance of tying things together perfectly before the show came to an end. Maybe after the finale wraps, many of you will feel like something is missing … or at least like the show could have done with another batch of episodes to sort of stretch out some of the final episodes, even if it was only a small handful of episodes.
So do we think the show needed another batch of episodes in order to tell the story? That’s up to the viewer. We feel like it would’ve been nice, and we’re sure that some others out there would feel the same.
However, at the same exact time there is something to be said for having a show leave you wanting more, and we do feel very much like it is better to end it early than end when a show starts to get tired. While there have been frustrating moments at times during season 5, we do think that this has been the most intense batch of episodes in a long time.
Ultimately, there’s never going to be a simple answer as to why season 5 was the final season of the show, or why certain decisions were made. For now, what we want to know from you is this: Should there have been more “Falling Skies” beyond this season? Vote in the poll!
What do you think: Did this show really need a season 6 in order for everything to tie together perfectly, and for the show to say goodbye in a way that you would want? Share in the comments.

we need season 6.. nothing is really clear after ending.. but I think they just didn’t know how to finish it as they gave them just another season and 10 episodes it is not enough…I want few more season..they are canceling this show and revewing show like last ship which is very boring…

this review, and the comments below.
What the hell.
they used this final season to wrap things up, im half way through and i feel as if the finale is already begenning, big things are happening, and this is why there are intense episodes in the mix.
The show has remained consistant, victories achieved by poking holes as opposed to direct combat, and the tide has only just turned but they still have to achieve victory by poking holes instead of direct combat.
there is far more mystery in the final season and once the battles ends, even if there isnt an epilogue it’ll still be satisfying because im not going into it with the intention to pick at the plot and find reasons to complain.
As for tying everything up, it isnt as though there are major outstanding factors.
the only one truly that would be a major issue is if the “higher threat” the ishveni mentioned was never revealed, and it left us wanting to see things scale up to a galactic war. (which i personally still want to see, but that brings me to my next point)
Loose ends in war, be realistic. When a civilization is rendered destroyed, the infrastructure obliterated, and it takes resistance movements to ultimate overthrow and reclaim their land or planet. There is going to be loose ends.
Falling skies follows the story of the masons. And they are not going to see every loose end tied up.
So no, i dont want a season 6.
I want a new series to continue and adapt on the lore within falling skies. I want to see a new infrastructure created with humanity to work along side their alien allies to fight the ishveni in a higher form of war.
budget increase.
main protaganist shift while maintaining the involvement of the originals.
and if somehow the entire ishveni army was defeated in this season, then again. what the hell are you people complaining about?
Falling skies quality has remained consistant, all exept for season 1. when their acting felt slightly awkward, as it always does in a fresh tv series.
Objectively speaking that is.

Falling skies started off with so much potential. The first 2 seasons they had something. They went waaaaaaay to sifi with the last 3 seasons. I love how they failed to properly explain the queens plans. If she were here for revenge why keep anyone alive. Why bother with camps before this show picked up or with the ghettos in season 4. Why bother with Lexie. Why meet Tom FTF multiple times and spare him MULTIPLE times. Bad writing. They wanted this show done so they wrote an awful ending. Lexie ruined this show nuff said

Falling Skies should make a film to finish it off i think season 6 wouldn’t be any good after Tom Mason killing the Queen off

Combine annoying ten episode seasons with lazy writing and this is what you get. No show should be less than 13 or 15 eps a season. Especially if the writers are constantly asleep at the switch.

I don’t think another season was needed so much as better writing and time management in this season. This season was mostly squandered on nonsense, when it should have been tying things up
