‘Game of Thrones’ season 6: More assurances on Kit Harington’s status; what do they mean?

Jon -No matter who you talk two, one message at the moment remains remarkably consistent when it comes to Jon Snow and his status on “Game of Thrones” season 6: The character is dead.

The latest overture on the subject of Kit Harington’s character came during the recent Edinburgh Television Festival, where the network’s Executive Vice President of Original Programming Michael Ellenberg told reporters (via Deadline) that Jon is “absolutely dead.”

Now, is there any thing at all that you should take from this as a fan of the show? The simple answer for the time being is “not really.” This seems to be the company line no matter who you ask. Maybe it is very well possible that Jon is in fact gone from the show, but if you are playing the whole game of “it’s not lying if people don’t ask the right questions,” HBO has been much more vague on whether or not Harington is done with the show. We’re not following the guy around like some people are, but we hope that he does at least have some sort of a role on the show moving forward. Ultimately, we’re not taking the comments of any executive as proof one way or another. We almost wish that people would say nothing rather than tease you one way or another.

Unfortunately, you’re going to be waiting for quite some time for the show to premiere. HBO has not confirmed a specific date just yet, but we imagine that it will be starting in either March or April 2016.
