‘America’s Got Talent’: Metal Mulisha Fitz Army named judges’ wild-card
Now, we are finally starting to get some sort of a sense regarding what NBC is doing with the “America’s Got Talent” semifinals. there were 21 people in total named to this round of the competition, but that’s certainly an odd number given that you have two semifinal shows.
Everything is (luckily) now starting to become at least somewhat more clear. The network announced earlier this week that stunt-bike act Metal Mulisha Fitz Army is the wild-card selection by the judges, and that brings the total to 22, or 11 acts per show. these guys were rather brilliant when they last performed, but were largely victims of two separate things.
1. Performing early in their show. Traditionally, going in the first half of the show more often than not leads to you being somewhat forgotten about. This is even more the cast when you were on a show that was as particularly strong as theirs was.
2. Performing an outdoor, prerecorded act. The hardest thing to translate over to viewers here is that this is still exciting, even if it is not taking place on live television. It’s the sort of thing that you know would not be shown in the event that there is a significant accident during the performance. It just doesn’t have the same vibe as the rest of the show.
Talent-wise, we’re not even remotely shocked to see Metal Mulisha Fitz Army chosen. They are one of the best and most-unique acts remaining, and they add that necessary variety to the mix. However, at the same exact time we don’t know how much more they can do to win over viewers given that they were already really great. This one will be interesting to watch.
