‘Celebrity Big Brother’ dismisses Tila Tequila after just one night

This story is all sorts of bizarre, and it is thanks to that it is all the more worth reporting. Just a single day after the beginning of this “Celebrity Big Brother” season, the show has already removed its first houseguest due to circumstances outside of the production of the show. Instead, it has to do with comments that were made back in 2013.

In a statement, it was revealed that Channel 5 chose to boot former reality star and popular Myspace personality Tila Tequila over some comments that she made supporting Adolf Hitler so many years ago, and claimed that they did not know about her viewpoint or these comments until after it was brought to them by many fans protesting her inclusion in the series.

“When they were brought to our attention, she was called to the Diary Room for a discussion with producers and was subsequently removed from the house. The views Tila had expressed, and permitted to remain uncorrected, are totally unacceptable and, accordingly, her continued involvement in the programme was untenable.”

We don’t argue with the decision that was made here at all, but at the same time, how in the world do you let someone in the house without doing a thorough investigation into their past? This feels like it is even more paramount with someone like Tequila, who has been front and center for so many controversial things over the course of her life. We understand that not all U.S. headlines are made front-page news in Great Britain, but this seems like something that could have clearly been avoided.

Also, we have a feeling that this is far from over if the show tries to not pay Tequila the money that was promised to her when she agreed to be a part of the show.

Do you think “Celebrity Big Brother” handled this the right way, or was there even a way to handle this the right way in your mind? Share in the comments.
