‘Arrow’ season 4 spoilers: First Oliver – Felicity photo revealed!

If you are an Olicity fan and diehard “Arrow” viewer, you’ve had some reassurances in some interviews here and there that Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak are going to still be going strong when the fourth season premieres on The CW on Wednesday, October 7. Still, sometimes seeing is believing, right?

The photo above comes to us via TVInsider, and it shows Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards’ characters looking lovingly into each other’s eyes. This is a brief moment of romance in what will probably be a much larger story, and we get the sense that the show is going in a new direction for their relationship now that they are together.

For example, a lot of season 3 was spent dealing with some heavy drama and even at times angst. To a certain extent, we get it: Felicity was afraid of losing Oliver forever, and she didn’t want that to happen without getting all of the feelings out in the open. We probably did want to see him pursue her more than we did, but there wasn’t really an opportunity for that given the circumstances.

Now that they are together, we anticipate that they’ll have a chance to have a bit of lighter banter, and some romance that will fit in organically with the dynamic of Team Arrow as a whole. While executive producer Marc Guggenheim notes to the aforementioned publication that this show is never going to be like “The Flash” in terms of tone, we will see a happier Oliver for at least a little while.

Given that this is “Arrow,” we imagine that there will be stumbling blocks here and there with the relationship. There are in almost every one in real life! How they handle them will show their strength as a couple.
