‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ spoilers: Could a Sarah Paulson character make it through another season?
There are few things that tie all four seasons of “American Horror Story” together beyond just some thematic similarities and the presence of Pepper / Sister Mary Eunice. However, there are many coincidences, with one of the biggest ones being that Sarah Paulson is the only main cast member to have made it through every single season in one piece. She was the Supreme in “Coven,” and in “Asylum” she was one of the few important characters who made it through the flash-forward at the very end of the season.
Could this trend continue? You’d be insane to think that you are going to get the answer to that right away. However, what we can at least tell you is that Paulson would like it to, if for no other reason than that she takes pride in what makes her stand out a little from the mold. Speaking to Deadline in a new interview promoting the upcoming Emmy Awards, she passed along the following message when discussing whether or not she would like to see her character die:
“I sort of feel like some of the characters who have died on the show have died in these fantastic ways that are incredibly memorable, and sometimes audiences get very attached to those stories and how it all went down. So I wouldn’t mind being involved in that kind of thing at all. However, my badge of honor will be one I will be sad to put aside, you know, that I’m the only one on all the seasons of Horror Story to survive. I’ve liked that badge–I wanted to continue it. But I respect Ryan Murphy enough to know that whatever he decides is basically what I’m going to do.”
Paulson is probably one of the busiest people in show business at the moment, given that she is alternating time between playing her new, quite evil role on “American Horror Story: Hotel” and Marcia Clark on “American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson.” The two series could not be any more different. One of them is imaginative and yet scary, and the other is going to be a recounting of one of the most notorious court cases of the 1990s.
We certainly know already that “American Horror Story: Hotel” has started off the season in an unusual way, with a party at star Lady Gaga’s house.
