NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 9: Selena Gomez talks being guest mentor

VoiceThe ninth season of “The Voice” is currently in production, and based on everything that we’ve been seeing and hearing about as of late, there is a heck of a lot to look forward to. For one, you’re going to get a chance to start to see a variety of different guest mentors! One of the most high-profile ones is Selena Gomez, who has seen her music career spike up thanks to hits like “Come and Get It.” This season, she’s working with Gwen Stefani during the Battle Rounds portion of the competition, and speaking in a new interview with “Access Hollywood,” she had the following to say about getting to spend some time with the No Doubt singer:

“I’m learning a lot being here. I’ve been in a transition period with my music, so it is, like [Gwen] said, inspiring … I love being in the presence of women, especially women who are so comfortable in their own skin and support other women.”

We are excited to see mostly what Selena can do in the limited time that she has on the series, mostly because this really is a limited amount of time. The show barely gives advisers more to say other than just a few assorted soundbytes, so they have to make the most of the time that they are around.

One great thing about this appearance for Selena? “The Voice” does do a really good job of allowing their advisers to come back and do some other things in the future, such as perform on some of the shows.
