‘Game of Thrones’ season 6 spoilers: A Walder Frey return is at least possible

LogoWe hope that over the course of the past couple of seasons, “Game of Thrones” viewers have not forgotten about Walder Frey. This is one of the most notorious villains that Westeros has, and he is responsible for the death of Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark, and Talisa at the infamous Red Wedding.

However, sense this event took place, HBO has drifted away from his story and his hold, opting instead to focus on many of their other villains. One other thing that makes his eventual return so interesting is that it feels like the show’s producers have gone in a very different direction with this story than in the books. With no Stoneheart, there has not been a sensible reason to return to this part of the world as of late.

All we can say for now is that it looks as though there is a chance Walder Frey could return this season. David Bradley has been somewhat open in the past about when he is not appearing on the show, but speaking to Zap2It at TCA this week to promote “The Strain,” he was a little more coy about whether or not he could be coming back soon:

“I can’t really say because things are in a delicate situation … I love playing someone irredeemable… he’s so appalling that there’s a kind of dark humor in there somewhere.”

Of course, everyone hates Walder Frey and wants to see House Stark get some sort of revenge. If the show doesn’t ever give us that moment, it would be a pretty epic disappointment.
