‘Supergirl’ spoilers: ‘Witches of East End’ alum set to play Lucy Lane

The upcoming CBS show “Supergirl” is now getting set to introduce a member of the Lane family.

It has been reported for some time that we would be seeing Lucy Lane on the series, who is the younger sister of Lois and in this show has some sort of history with Mehcad Brooks’ Jimmy Olson. Now, we have learned that Jenna Dewan-Tatum of “Witches of East End” fame is set to play the part.

Is there going to be more to Lucy than we see on the show this season? That’s at least something that you have to consider, if for no other reason than that in some comic series Lucy Lane is Superwoman.

There is a funny thing about this story is the timing of it all. Not too long before this casting news, we learned that Jenna’s husband Channing Tatum was officially aboard the upcoming big-screen adaptation of “Gambit.” That’s a completely different superhero property, and the two could have comic books on the brain!

The new season of “Supergirl” will be premiering on October 25 at a special time in 8:30 p.m. Eastern, and after this first airing it will settle in for good at its standard 8:00 p.m. timeslot. For the most part you are going to see a wide array of villains and some different supernatural characters who turn up. CBS has some high hopes to make this into the next great superhero show, and there is a great creative team here including Ali Adler (“Chuck”) and Andrew Kreisberg (“Arrow” and “The Flash”).
