‘Hell on Wheels’ season 5, episode 4 preview: What’s ahead for Anson Mount, cast in ‘Struck’

On tonight’s new episode of “Hell on Wheels,” we had what could be the beginnings of a labor war when some of Strobridge’s men decided to take matters into their own hands over the influx of Chinese workers doing more work for less pay. They infiltrated Chang’s “place of business” and created chaos there, and as a result of that, they only escalated tension within the walls of Truckee.

Moving into the next new installment of the show entitled “Struck,” it is fair to see that Anson Mount’s character of Cullen Bohannon is perhaps in the trickiest position he has been in so far this season, having to figure out how to solve the conflict without more violence. The synopsis below (via TV Guide) offers us a clue about what could happen. Meanwhile, it also serves as a reminder that the show does intend to explore the Union Pacific side of things more so than they have through most of the season:

“Cullen [tries to solve] a Chinese labor strike in the wake of violence. Meanwhile, Durant pulls Mickey deeper into Union Pacific business.”

As we push further into this fifth and final season, we envision that Mickey, Durant, and the rest of the Union Pacific side are going to become more and more immersed in the story. These two railroad companies are moving closer and closer to the same point in Utah, and we have to imagine there will be more communication as they start to get closer to one another. Longtime fans of the series and these characters have quite a bit to look forward to.
