‘MasterChef’ season 6, episode 11 preview: Who’s breaking down over a fruit tart?
If there is one thing that we have come to learn over the years on “MasterChef,” it is that you cannot freak out too much over a preview. They can be somewhat deceptive! Going into this week’s episode, the show definitely made it appear almost like Shelly was going to be going home over not getting peanut butter and jelly for the challenge … and she still got it. Sure, she did almost end up going home, but it was for a completely different reason.
Therefore, we are not going to read too much into Stephen breaking down and getting angry in the preview that aired after Sara’s elimination. This is a bold, emotional guy, and he could challenge Gordon Ramsay only to bounce back and deliver the best tart of the night. He’s certainly gotten an interesting edit so far; despite being a big personality we’ve found him fairly likable, but all of a sudden he completely disappeared this week as he finished in the middle of the pack. The crazy thing about this preview is that it makes virtually zero effort to hide the fact that Stephen, pending some sort of crazy twist, is probably going to be in the pressure test.
There’s also going to be a Team Challenge in this episode that features Katrina and Hetal as captains, and the latter is probably going to be at a huge disadvantage since it appears that beef is involved. She’s a vegetarian, and while other team players will help her to compensate for that, it’s hard to lead when you don’t have that sort of experience. (Granted, Hetal’s choices with food make her much more formidable in other ways when she is in her element. It’s too bad that the show doesn’t have more vegetarian challenges.)
The person we’re the most worried about going into this episode coming up is probably Olivia. While we’re almost at a level now where all the remaining contestants have an equal amount of airtime, we’ve probably spent less time getting to know her than anyone else.
