‘Hannibal’ season 3 spoilers: First teasers on ‘The Great Red Dragon’

Hannibal -As fascinating and entertaining as the current arc on “Hannibal” regarding the character’s time in Europe may be, we also know that there are plenty of other people mostly intrigued by how this show is going to edit together and present the story of Red Dragon. This is one of the most famous parts of the book series, and there is obviously a certain amount of pressure to get this right.

You can almost get a sense of how much Bryan Fuller covets this material just by episode title alone. “The Great Red Dragon” is the eighth episode this season, and it is also the only one that does not feature something related to food in its name. NBC has just released the official synopsis, and it confirms much of what we have heard already about everything from the three-year time jump to also the arrival of Richard Armitage as Francis Dolarhyde, one of the key players in what is to come:

“Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) has been under lock and key for three years at the Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane, when a new villain arises in Francis Dolarhyde (guest star Richard Armitage), also known as “The Tooth Fairy.” As the investigation unfolds Jack Crawford (Laurence Fishburne) approaches Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) to help catch this vicious serial killer who is targeting families.”

The great news about this synopsis is primary that it confirms that both Will and Jack make it to the second part of the season. We were always confident about the former, but a little more concerned over Jack’s fate.
