‘Doctor Who’ season 9: Peter Capaldi teases new season, hopes Jenna Coleman sticks around

Doctor Who -The ninth season of “Doctor Who” may still be more than a month away from premiering, but it’s not too early to start sharing a few details here and there! There are 12 episodes coming once again alongside a Christmas Special, and with Comic-Con coming next week, you better prepare yourselves for a real cavalcade of news coming in the near future.

For now, how about a quote from the show’s star in Peter Capaldi? Speaking in a Comic-Con preview interview with Entertainment Weekly, he offered up what is a small bit of scoop when it comes to how his Doctor is going to be making his presence felt early on this season:

“He’s throwing himself into life with a newfound hunger for adventure. He’s in pursuit of joy and grabbing every thrill that he can along the way. But I sense him running from something, that even he does not yet understand.”

For those who are curious, Capaldi says that he “hopes” that Jenna Coleman is going to continue to appear on the show as companion Clara Oswald. There were rumors that she was going to leave at the end of season 8, and it was actually revealed later that this was an original plan before she ultimately decided to stay instead. With that in mind, you have to think that there will be more rumors later this year.

For now, though, let’s talk guest stars! Maisie Williams of “Game of Thrones” fame will appear at some point this season, and Michelle Gomez is also set to come back.
