‘Game of Thrones’ season 6: The latest Comic-Con experience revealed!

Game of Thrones -Game of Thrones” sometimes has to be creative when it comes to generating headlines at San Diego Comic-Con, given that it does not often have the same benefit that many other series have of airing sometime months away from the convention. They do not have any new, flash trailers to show off, or significant story scoop to share.

As a matter of fact, we imagine the teasers this year to be perhaps even worse than they ever have before, and there is a fairly simple reason for that: Nobody actually knows what is coming up next! There is no source material out there from George R.R. Martin to serve as a resource. Sometimes we get videos teasing some of the new cast members on the show during the panel, but we cannot even envision that happening this time around.

So as a way to make up for all of this, HBO is busting out yet again their Ultimate Fan Experience so that fans of the series can attend the convention and feel like they are still getting something cool to go along with the hotel. At the famed Omni nearby the convention center, you can immerse yourself in a famed moment from season 1. Here are some specifics via Winter Is Coming:

“Paying homage to beloved character Arya Stark’s early days of sword training, the experience will feature an installation that is part sword-handling skill and part artistic process, to create a beautiful, graphic Game of Thrones-style self-portrait. Upon arrival, fans will have their portrait taken and step in front of a 10-foot projection screen on stage. There, they will use a replica of Arya’s wooden training sword to strike targets as they appear on screen. Upon completion fans will receive an artistic portrait made entirely of their sword strikes that is immediately shareable on their social networks as well as at #ExperienceTheRealm.”

This will be available from July 9 until July 11 from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and then from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.; as you would expect, these times are Pacific.
