‘The Bachelor’ rankings: Ben Higgins, Josh Murray, Shawn Booth, Ben Zorn still in contention

Ben -We’re back for our second straight week of “Bachelor” rankings, and this is something that we always enjoy doing around this time of year. There are a few genuine contenders in the mix to follow up Chris Soules, and all of them bring something a little bit different to the table. You have the likable underdog, the emotional man from Nashville, and the former baseball player who was at one point engaged to Andi Dorfman. There are at least some other candidates, too, worth at least a mention.

5. Jared Haibon – We’d watch a “Bachelor” season headlined by Jared. He’s not your typical choice, but there’s something almost whimsical about his view of romance. It would make for a fun, different sort of season than what we have grown accustomed to over time with this franchise.

4. Ben Zorn – He’s a big guy with a heart of gold, and producers will probably just have him do the entire season shirtless for the heck of it. Don’t rule Ben Z. out as a darkhorse contender.

3. Shawn Booth – Very popular online, has many qualities you want, and is also somewhat emotional when it comes to his feelings. If Shawn and Kaitlyn don’t actually end up together (which seems unlikely at this point, given the edit plus the Snapchat stuff), he’d be a really great Bachelor.

2. Ben Higgins – Likable, heartfelt, and very different from the past few Bachelors. Is he a little young? Sure, and he would be the first leading man in show history at 26 who is younger than we are. Age is in many ways only a number, though; he seems more mature than the majority of the guys we’ve had in the role.

1. Josh Murray – Right now he is the one to beat, given that he is the pick of most of social media. He’s already got a built-in story, and most Bachelor viewers love Southern guys. What’s working against him is that any of the people we’ve mentioned here could finish the show strong and overtake him.
