‘Chasing Life’ season 2 spoilers: First details on premiere; new art

The past few weeks have been somewhat crazy for ABC Family’s “Chasing Life,” which is mostly interesting to us thanks to the simple fact that the show is not even on the air at present. We’re waiting for it to premiere on July 6, which is more than a month earlier than it was first announced to be returning. Not only that, but it was also recently announced that it will air back in its 9:00 p.m. Eastern timeslot after originally being slated for 10:00. “Becoming Us” is instead going to be delayed after struggling in the ratings.

In addition to some of the new key art above for season 2 featuring Italia Ricci as April, we’ve also got for you below the synopsis for the premiere. The biggest takeaway from this is clearly that she is going to try and enjoy her life as much as she can in the time that she has:

“Newly engaged and unemployed, April tries to come to terms with her new reality. Always one to think two steps ahead, she decides to no longer plan for her future but just enjoy the moment she is in with a little help from fellow cancer patient Vanessa (Krysta Rodriguez). First up is to plan and enjoy her engagement party!

“Meanwhile, Natalie stumbles upon a secret manuscript of her father’s that could have major repercussions for the entire Carver family.”

It’s still a little too early to speculate on just what could unfold on this season as a whole, but we’re excited already with the direction that the writers seem to be going in. It’s hard sometimes to make this show upbeat given the subject matter, but finding that lightness is still important.
