‘The Last Ship’ season 2 promo focuses on Eric Dane’s Chandler

Last Ship -There are clearly a variety of different ways in which TNT could choose to promote the upcoming second season of “The Last Ship,” but for the most part, we’re rather glad that they have chosen more of the character-specific approach. We know that the show is executive-produced by Michael Bay, and due to that there is potential for some of the best action sequences that a cable TV show can actually afford given the budget.

Ultimately, TNT clearly knows that it is the cast that will have people coming back to the show on a weekly basis, and that is fronted by Eric Dane’s Chandler. In part, this new promo below focuses on his own struggle, which also includes at the same time much of what he has left behind in order to continuing fighting to save others. Sacrifice is a big part of the world in which these characters live in … which really should not be a shock given the death total.

“The Last Ship” returns with a two-hour episode come June 21, and we imagine that one of the biggest obstacles it is going to have to overcome is strictly a monster over on HBO in “True Detective.” There are clearly enough numbers to go around, but this is the first time that the two have ever been in direct competition.

Given that the network is already being so aggressive in promoting the new season now, we imagine that they will continue to do so throughout the next few weeks. We’ll have more scoop as it comes out.
