‘Hannibal’ season 3 premiere video: Watch a new Mads Mikkelsen scene right now!

Thursday’s season 3 premiere of “Hannibal” is inching ever closer, and the more that we are starting to see and hear about it, the more that it is clear that there are many reasons to be excited. The sneak peek below is one prime example of that.

When it comes to content itself, this scene is fairly simple: The arrival of Hannibal Lecter in France, which is where he was flying to at the end of season 2 with Bedelia. Given that we know he ends up in Italy, this is just a stepping stone in his journey. There is limited verbal interaction until the end, and yet the scene still feels somewhat more involved. In his leather jacket, Hannibal almost looks like a man on the run.

There are two things that we love especially about this particular scene:

1. Getting the chance to see some of the show’s stellar camera work once again. It does a great job of playing up chaos, and never making you feel completely settled in. Few other shows tend to take you on a journey visually like this.

2. Mads Mikkelsen’s eyes. You can read so much of Lecter’s journey just by looking into them. They have a warmness to them, but also mystery and darkness at the same time. They’re trustworthy eyes, and sometimes those are the sort you want to steer clear of the most.

We anticipate much of the premiere being about Lecter’s journey; while Will Graham is confirmed for the second episode, his role in the premiere is still reasonably unclear.
