‘Mistresses’ season 3: ABC unveils first poster featuring Jennifer Esposito

Mistresses -Has much changed in the world of ABC’s “Mistresses“? Superficially, you really have to say so! This is a show that has underwent many changes since the show first aired its pilot episode. We’ve seen relationships change, and this time around we are seeing cast members change. Alyssa Milano has left the show already, mostly because of the decision made to move the filming location to Vancouver. She has a young family, and does not want to put them through much in the way of travel.

In her place, we have Jennifer Esposito (formerly of “Blue Bloods”) coming in to be one of the key cast members, and potentially one of the four women in the title. ABC has just featured her in their new poster for the season via Entertainment Weekly, and it is very much reminiscent of how they have promoted the series in the past. The only real difference here is merely the change in cast. This still feels like something that could be on the cover of a romance novel. (Click on the image to expect it.)

The new season of the drama, which premieres on Thursday, June 18, will face the challenge right away of wrapping up Milano’s Savi, which will probably have to be done without the character even appearing onscreen. From there, the challenge more or less shifts to continuing the story with the other ladies, introducing Esposito’s character, and keeping this the guilty pleasure that its fans want it to be.

Now, the only other hope we have is that viewers remember to watch it in a new night, and it does not suffer without its typical lead-in of “The Bachelorette.”
