‘iZombie’ season 1, episode 12 review: How will Peyton deal with Liv’s zombie secret?
With there only being one episode left after tonight’s, things are really getting tense on “iZombie” for our crew. Major is running around with a bag full of brains threatening to kill every zombie he sees, Liv is terrified of the video footage of her eating a brain getting out to the public and Ravi is on the verge of finding a cure for being a zombie.
The man that Liv infected is on the loose and he’s the first zombie to be murdering his meals and leaving a trail of evidence a mile long. Worse then that he finds Liv (and Peyton) and spills out his ravaging story of how he’s eaten people he cares about and how he blames her for everything. After a pretty intense fight, which ends with Liv killing the zombie, Peyton asks her to tell her the truth about everything (and she might as well since she just saw Liv zombie out). Liv tells her everything and she flees the apartment the first chance she gets. Will she keep Liv’s secret?
Major has recorded a video spilling everything he knows…. just in case he ends up dead after the stunt he’s about to pull. He pretends to be a health inspector and heads to Blaine’s meat shop to get information about the business/zombies, but things get bad when later the Candyman suspects that it’s Major and not a health inspector at all. Also Major is buying guns (and possibly grenades) which couldn’t possibly end well, but before he’s able to do anything, Blaine and the Candyman lock him up in the back of their meat shop. Add on top of that, Liv’s brother just got hired by Blaine to work at the meat shop.
When Ravi’s cured rat ends up dead, Liv takes the news fairly well… but it’s likely because she’s eaten the brain of a cheerleader. Ravi has now made another zombie rat in hopes to find a cure, but we don’t expect to see one this season.
With this being the last episode before the finale, we really expected there to be a lot more focus on the main storylines, but it felt like a regular, midseason episode. Because of this, we aren’t sure what to expect from the finale next week. We do have to admit that we are a little more excited now that some people in Liv’s life are starting to find out about her. It ups the stakes. Episode grade: B-
