‘The Bachelorette’: Chris Harrison on showing Britt Nilsson – Brady Toops relationship
It was almost weird the way that “The Bachelorette” ended on Monday night. On one side of the coin, we watched one woman in Kaitlyn Bristowe deal with some pretty miserable house drama. Specifically, you had a guy in Kupah James yelling and rating outside of the house, and that led to her going out and confronting him in a scene we will see next week; then, we had another woman in Britt Nilsson who, despite being sent home the first night, may have still found love courtesy of Brady Toops. While it’s far too early to tell if she and the singer-songwriter are going to actually be together long-term, it is certainly so far, so good for the two of them at the moment.
In discussing this move by Brady and the decision the show the two briefly dating, host Chris Harrison said the following in his post-show TV Guide interview:
“Part of our excitement in doing [the double Night 1] was that we thought there could be a situation like this and that we’d facilitate it and make it work. We’ve been able to marry the two very well because we don’t want to take away from Kaitlyn’s experience or the viewer’s experience watching Kaitlyn. Even if you are Team Kaitlyn, you can wish Britt well in her life, and I hope women show both of these women love this season. I’d like to see people rally around both of them.”
Will we see a whole lot more of Britt and Brady? We’d be surprised, mostly because this is technically Kaitlyn’s season and the montage last night felt like enough for a temporary ending. Our guess is that we see the two more at the “Men Tell All” special, and then maybe at the “After the Final Rose.” If Brady ends up proposing and she says yes, this could be the craziest love story in the series’ history.
