‘Agents of SHIELD’ season 2, ‘Scandal’ season 4 coming to Netflix early
Is it Christmastime for Netflix subscribers? While we certainly would not go that far, we do feel like at the moment, many people with this service have to be feeling pretty darn good about themselves. After all, a pair of ABC shows are going to be heading to the service much earlier than we expected!
Let us start here first and foremost with Marvel’s “Agents of SHIELD” season 2, which is coming to the service on June 11. Given that this is only around a month after the finale aired on the network, we are surprised about this … but also grateful. After all, it feels like a smart move. In putting the show on the air now, what the network is more or less doing is ensuring that more potential viewers check out the show and get hooked before the fall. Season 2 was pretty fantastic, and was far more stuffed with comic ethos than even the one beforehand. This move should not come as too great a shock given the strong relationship between Netflix and all things Marvel; the service already has the exclusive series “Daredevil,” and more are on the way.
Meanwhile, “Scandal” season 4 is also heading to the service next month! June 13 is the premiere date for the entire fourth season of the Kerry Washington show, which is great news for similar reasons. There’s no clear reason at all why it is coming aboard so quickly, but it is not that we really mind to some great degree, either.
We do hope that premiering seasons earlier on Netflix comes more of a common practice. Sure, some will probably just wait until end-of-season to binge, but at the same time, we’re of the belief that if your product is good enough, people will get impatient. Build something great, and folks will watch live.
