‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 8 review: Elizabeth’s birthday and temporary happiness

Finding Carter -Last week, “Finding Carter” chose to give some of the spotlight to the supporting cast. With that in mind, the show really slanted things a little more to the title character tonight, and also Madison, who caused all sorts of trouble in a short amount of time.

First things first, quite a bit of drama stemmed directly from the character’s subtle proclamations to Carter (and we saw that with some sarcasm) that she is far too controlled in this environment. When we had a chance to see her with Lori, there was not so much in the way of structure and rules. Also, she briefly had her considering moving out and being on her own.

By the end of the episode, Madison did decide that she was going to go stay with Max for the time being, and that so much of her present state of mind can be drawn from how she feels about her having such a caring family. This is the same caring family who eventually got Grant back at the end of the episode. Even David and birthday girl Elizabeth decided to stay under the same roof for a change!

At first this was one of the more uplifting episodes of the show, at least in that after spending so many episodes watching the entire world of the show fall apart. Even Carter got a little bit of a reprieve after a texting-while-driving punishment.

Of course, nothing can stay perfect for long. Happiness is temporary, and the installment ended with Carter learning that Lori attempted suicide. Grade: B.
