‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2: A further look at Mutiny, and the season ahead

Donna -While we understand that many viewers of AMC at the moment may be mourning the loss of “Mad Men” from the schedule, we do still think that there is something good coming on the other side. Specifically here, we are speaking about the upcoming second season of “Halt and Catch Fire” on AMC. This is a show that has delivered not just great entertainment over the first season, but also some authenticity. We grew up in Texas not too much later than the era portrayed on the show, and they have so much of the ambiance down perfectly.

What is fun about the first video that we have for you below is mostly that it shows off some of the interesting juxtaposition between then and now. Mutiny, the company run in part by Cameron and Donna (Mackenzie Davis and Kerry Bishé) was in many ways the 1980s version of Pied Piper on “Silicon Valley.” It’s just placed within the world of a drama rather than a comedy, but this show is determined to show you how a company like Mutiny, which is placed inside of a house, functions.

What is very interesting to us about season 2 right now is the Donna and Cameron story is far more notable than anything going on with Joe or Gordon, who were largely the main players of the first season. Maybe that’s just because these two ladies had the better cliffhanger, or there is something more here in that these two have a largely compelling story on their hands trying to build something from scratch. Joe tried to do something like this in his own way in season 1, but he took an existing company and tried to form it to his needs.

The new season premieres a little later this month on AMC, and we will have some further updates soon.
