‘Bones’ season 11 official; Fox show renewed with David Boreanaz, Emily Deschanel
For all of those wondering, there is no longer any reason to worry about whether or not we are going to see Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz on “Bones” in the immediate future. It has been confirmed now that the long-running series has been renewed by Fox for the 11th season! There is no guarantee at the moment that this will be the final season, but for now, let’s just go ahead and rejoice the fact that it is coming back in the first place.
Also, let’s talk for a second here about some of the big news creatively that is coming out of this. Showrunner Stephen Nathan will be departing at least for the beginning of the season, but he could be around for the end. Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson will be stepping up to handle even more of the day-to-day duties.
Early this fall, we were absolutely confident that a deal here was going to get done, even to the point where we did not hesitate at all when asked the question. However, there was a little more anxiety brought on lately by the decline in viewers. It is the ratings that could make season 11 the last, but if it is, know that it will at least get a worthy send-off. That’s something that so many network shows especially do not get.
There are still many season 11 episodes still to air, and those will be coming on Fox Thursday night. Stay tuned for some more updates in the days ahead!
