‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 23 preview: A deeper look at ‘The Lost Boys’
If you enjoy episodes of “NCIS” that freak you out or challenge your thinking, you may enjoy at least some of “The Lost Boys.” You are probably not going to enjoy so much the part that makes you fear for the life of one of the show’s popular characters.
We’re not going to talk too much about the possible death in this episode in this article, mostly because that is not so much a focus of either of the sneak peeks below. Instead, we are going to focus more here on the events that could involve cyber-terrorism and children (as unfortunate of a conversation as that may be).
1. Gibbs notices something is off – While trying to look over the scene of a bombing, Gibbs notices that there is a child staring right in his direction. he chases him, only for the child to run in the other direction. This tells him that something is not right about this scene, and it then pushes him into the remainder of his operation.

2. Piecing things together – According to what Gibbs, Tony, and Bishop have figured out, some of these children have been recruited to join a potential criminal organization via chat room. We already have one very important question as a response to this: Who in the world still uses chat rooms? The answer here, at least to us, seems to be “no one other than really terrible people interested in forming some sort of child army.”
The only other thing that we can offer here is that this case is going to get so much worse well before it starts to get better.

It seems kind of bait and switch the way the scenes they put out there to promote the show always have Tony in them, and then in the actual episode he has very little, and nothing dangerous, dramatic, or significant to do. We know that this episode is another Gibbs and McGee centric episode as Gibbs connects to the boy and McGee and Dorneget go to Cairo where there will be a death. Tony probably won’t do anything nearly as dangerous or important as Gibbs and McGee which has been the disappointment of season 12. I’ve gotten bored waiting for Tony to do something/anything that is exciting, flattering, or interesting. As a Tony fan, I’ve all but given up on ever seeing him do anything but filler scenes supporting the super Gibbs and SIC McGee show.

Fans like Tony. Showing Tony get’s their attention. But it appears that TPTB don’t like Tony so much. It’s all a gimmick to lift their sagging viewership numbers.
