‘Secrets & Lies’ season 2: Talking renewal odds, other speculation for Ryan Phillippe drama
Tonight, the finale of “Secrets and Lies” is airing on ABC, and we are already getting closer to finally figuring out another secret: Whether or not ABC is going to give the Ryan Phillippe drama a second season!
At the moment, we have to admit that we’re not entirely sure one way or the other just what is going to happen. This is a show that started off with relatively ho-hum numbers, and thanks to that we wondered for a while if it would even be on our radar come May. However, it has remained steady virtually ever since, and even improved to its best ratings yet last weekend. If the finale stays at that level, we have a hard time envisioning it getting canceled with that sort of upward trajectory. Also, “Revenge” is done, “American Crime” is ending, and the odds for “Forever” are not particularly great, either.
One of the benefits to a show like this, is that it benefits very well from the shortened episode order. You can order another season for midseason, and then use it somewhere as a replacement to something that was either canceled or had a shorter season in its own right. Given that we don’t see the same people watching this show who watch “Once Upon a Time” in general, maybe there will be a chance for it to succeed on another night.
Ultimately, we imagine that a decision on the series will be revealed within the next two weeks, so stay tuned for that and vote on what you want to see happen in the comments.

Renew!! Could also do a differnt secret/lie with different people every season. New story, new twist! This show is too awesome to end!

Please renew Secrets and Lies with the same cast only though. I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to watch the show without Ryan Phillippe and Juliette Lewis. They are amazing!

They have already said that it will be all new cast & case except for Juliette Lewis. She stays as Cornell solving a new case! Toms case is done & they showed that on Cornell confidential.. Sadly no more Ryan Phillippe. Yes please renew!

At least give some more episode on what happens with Abby and her dad. Ben fought hard and he realize that his daughter beat Tom over and over. His daughter might has a problem. Maybe her sister saw this rage a lot before Tom and that why she want to give Abby up

An infuriating show, but it needs to be renewed. Too many loose ends, and kind of a sour ending. I don’t need a happy ending, and there can’t really be one, but I’m not sure I accept the plausibility of the finale. Too many people know the truth. Besides, with a new season, Ryan Philippe and Juliette Lewis could prove that they each know more than one facial expression. Is there an Emmy for Best Pursed Lips or Best Scowl?

Yes, there definitely should be a Season 2 to show Cornell going after the REAL killer and how the family deals with that. There should be more to this, and getting Ben out of prison, etc..Would be interesting.

This show has to be renewed! It is one of the only shows my husband and I can agree on! It keeps us coming back each time and has only gotten better and better each week. And now we are invested, we both are anxious to see what happens next!

This show is a must watch for my husband and I. The cast is fantastic and the plot keeps us in suspense from week to week! We are looking so forward to a season 2 with the entire cast returning, keeping us on the edge of our seats! Please continue this exciting show!
