‘Madam Secretary’ season 2 spoilers: Premiere date speculation, more for Tea Leoni drama

Madam Secretary -What is going to happen next for “Madam Secretary“? While the CBS show may have been renewed already for a second season, we are starting to feel a little more and more now like there is a chance for there to be some major change for it. Its ratings on Sunday night (at least in terms of the 18-49 demographic) are not great, and there has to be a feeling from the network that it can do better.

Therefore, as you wait through the time between now and the upfronts later this month, do not be surprised if we suddenly see “Madam Secretary” moved to Friday nights. If one of the network’s current shows there is canceled, this is an easy destination. Its ratings would be welcome and acceptable for that timeslot more than Sundays; in some ways, it could even be construed as a blessing. No more football overrun! That has always been an annoyance. (We’ve said this before, but we are personally an advocate of putting “Supergirl,” which has potential to be great family entertainment, into the Sunday night at 8:00 spot.)

So what could come next on the second season story-wise? We had a great introduction to the Elizabeth McCord character this time (played by Tea Leoni), and now that we know all the characters, we already expect things to blow up and become even worse. Not only will there most likely be even more international conflicts, but also more of Elizabeth dealing with the spotlight, especially if Stevie’s new relationship sticks beyond the finale.

Of course, we will have even more updates on the show throughout the hiatus. Be on the lookout for that!
