‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: More devastation coming in ‘Time Stops’

If you thought briefly that “Grey’s Anatomy” was going to stop doing horrible things to your emotions after killing off the Derek character, then what we have for you today will probably make you rather sad: Some further evidence that this is indeed not happening.

After you make it through the two-hour episode Thursday night entitled “She’s Leaving Home” that will most likely deal with the aftermath of Derek’s death and the funeral, you will then get a chance to move into “Time Stops.” This May 7 episode features another catastrophe, and while it does not necessarily have to be one that takes the life of a major character, it will still rock the hospital and test everyone in an enormous way. Take a look at the synopsis, however short it may be: “The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital are forced to put their emotions aside when a catastrophic event occurs.”

So what could this event be? Given that we’ve already seen a torrential storm, a shooting, and a plane crash, there are only so many other terrible things that could occur. No matter what it is, it will set the stage for an intense sixty minutes that ultimately pave the way for the finale. That episode has the challenge of tying everything up, and then setting the stage for season 12.

While the series has not been officially renewed for another season just yet, you do better believe that this is going to be announced sooner rather than later. “Grey’s Anatomy” remains a signature show on ABC, and one of the few to consistently post more than a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
