‘Madam Secretary’ episode 21 preview: Trouble on all fronts
As we near the end of “Madam Secretary” season 1, conflicts are going to arise in every direction. Will Elizabeth McCord be able to handle most of them? Given that this is in fact her job, she’s more prepared to handle them than most … but things are going to change when some of these problems could be brought up by her husband. We feel like this is a suitable tease in setting up the two sneak peeks that we have for you below!
1. The conflict with Iran – Right when it seems as though the United States and Iran are starting to secure a valuable signing signifying peace, Elizabeth has to deal with a threat to it happening on all fronts. First, the human part of the equation. A group has decided in Iran to thumb their noses at America, and stone a gay man just so that they can continue to practice their old ways. Meanwhile, the HRC is planning a protest.
Now, Tea Leoni’s character has to figure out if there is a way to postpone this execution, slow down the protest, and make sure that the signing in Washington happens without interruption. Good luck with all of that.

2. And now, for something completely different – And something that is all about Henry. He is put in an extremely difficult position here in a very different way, as he has to figure out a way to bring up a key subject of conversation with his wife. Much of this is relevant, but also completely different in tone. We’re not really sure if we like it or not yet (there can be an overload of conspiracy talk and secret agents), but at least this is Henry getting some good material. We will definitely sign off on that.
